Blundells Road Bridge was demolished to make way for the modern road and the whole layout was changed.Blundells Road used to go over the bridge before coming out near where there is now a garage. It takes its name from the nearby private school,Blundell's,that was established in the town in 1604.The old rail bridge was replaced by a metal foot bridge and the road was diverted onto the old railway line.
If you walk over the new foot bridge you can still make out the old road, now a footpath. The railway used to turn right from Blundells Road Bridge, before heading straight up into Tiverton Station. The modern road, called The Great Western Way,was built on top of the old line and the old station,of which nothing remains.
