Cadeleigh
Cadeleigh station was opened 1885 and was initially known as "Cadeleigh and Bickleigh Station" until being shortened to just Cadeleigh Station in 1906.Being next to the A396 it suffered from the competition with the bus companies and was the least profitable of the exe Valley stations.Ironically it was its location next to the main road that saved it from demolition when the railway closed,as the council took it over to use as a road depot.Today it is on the site of the Devon Railway Centre ,where many of the buildings still remain.
