Along our way we also visited a couple of bridges in Brushford.Although on the Devon & Somerset Line, they are worth a look. The first bridge is a solid road bridge, but it is difficult to get a good look at it,as there are private houses on either side.
The other bridge is further down the road into Brushford village and is much more visually pleasing and accessible. It is a lovely solid bridge that is in good condition, although a big block of it had fallen out when we visited.I do hope that someone is responsible for looking after it.
If you climb on top of the bridge you can get a look down the line either way, which I think is now a foot path,as well as a good look down to the road. Also of interest in Brushford, although not train related,is the amazing oak tree in the churchyard.A really amazing and special tree that is well worth stopping to see.
