Further along on the other side of the river,there used to be another bridge that the line went under.St.Andrew street used to go over this bridge towards Collipriest.After this bridge was demolished to make way for the new road,a modern footbridge was made to replace it and is still there today.Standing on the bridge I felt a bit sorry for the people of St.Andrew Street who had their road decapitated like this.
We then crossed back over the river,to see if there was anything to be found to the west of West Exe Halt.If you look on the Google Map,it is easy to trace the route of the line as it leaves the halt.Woodward Road now lies on top of where the line used to go and by the curve of this road,was built directly on top of the old line.There is nothing to be seen down this road full of industrial units,that comes to a dead end.
