The bridge seems quite narrow to have got trains through it,but it must have done.Whilst standing there,Christine said that she thought she could hear a train,an idea that I really liked and reminded me of one of the shows that we watch,"Outlander".
Before being zapped to an older time,although that may not be a bad thing,we left and headed back to the covered up Bampton station where we had parked.After a quick visit again to the Heritage Centre in Bampton church,I made a positive identification of the station wall.
I have examined many old photos of the old station at Bampton and I am now certain that the wall around the car park is the same wall from the station.It wasn't knocked down like the station buildings,just the grassy banks were levelled out.
We then drove home,just before it started pouring down with rain....again!
